Elevating Festival Participation: A Strategic Approach
Annually, Ukrainian Credit Union Limited played a pivotal role as a key sponsor in the Toronto Ukrainian Festival, North America's largest Ukrainian festival with over 600,000 annual visitors. Our involvement extended across various facets, including a parade float, festival booth, VIP luncheon organization, media engagements, headliner autograph sessions, promotional campaigns, and sponsorship of pre and after parties.
My role was to meticulously plan and execute Ukrainian Credit Union's festival participation, ensuring the visuals remained fresh and engaging for staff, festival organizers, and patrons—all while upholding the core brand values and commitment to financial literacy and education.
The process kicked off with extensive planning, beginning in March and culminating in September for the festival. Each year involved ideating a theme aligned with UCU's values and the Ukrainian community, contributing to financial literacy. The project heavily relied on strategic spreadsheet use for budgeting, volunteer schedules, and vendor coordination.
Effective communication was paramount—from building relationships with local businesses to managing various festival components. The thrill of witnessing ideas come to life reinforced the importance of clear communication within the team. Recognizing each team member's contribution ensured a smoother project execution, making these experiences invaluable learning opportunities.
